Standing out in search rankings can be a tough challenge in the competitive FinTech market. Our client makes software for accounting professionals to organize their firms and collaborate with their teams and clients. They were determined to grow their organic traffic and rank for crucial keywords to enhance their online visibility and attract more customers.
With a solid content strategy already in place, the next step was to build a strong backlink profile. However, limited in-house resources and expertise made executing a strategic link-building campaign difficult. The Challenge: Rank for Crucial Keywords and Grow Traffic
The client’s primary goal was to increase their organic traffic and secure top rankings for high-intent keywords relevant to their niche. While they had excellent content and an effective internal SEO strategy, their backlink profile was not strong enough to compete in the crowded market.
They needed to build high-quality backlinks that would pass authority to key pages, helping them rank for important search terms and attract ready-to-act buyers. Initially, they were only able to secure a few high-quality links per month, which was insufficient to make a significant impact.
What We Did: Targeted Research and Outreach

Competitor Backlink Analysis:
We began by examining the backlink profiles of the client’s main competitors. Our goal was to identify high-authority sites to target for links, understand which types of resources these sites were linking to, and uncover opportunities that the competition had missed. This analysis provided us with a roadmap for our link-building strategy, ensuring that we could help the client gain a competitive edge. -
Content Audit and Targeting:
Next, we conducted a thorough audit of the client’s existing content to identify the most relevant pages to focus on for link-building. We prioritized pages targeting low-difficulty keywords that had the potential to deliver quick wins in terms of rankings. This targeted approach allowed us to secure valuable backlinks that had a significant impact on the client’s search engine performance. -
Strategic Outreach:
To maximize the effectiveness of our link-building efforts, we split our strategy 10/90 between guest posts and niche edits. We targeted domains with a Domain Rating (DR) of 60 or higher, ensuring that the links we built were from authoritative and relevant sources. Throughout the campaign, we focused on relevancy at both the domain level and page level, which helped boost the client’s rankings for key search terms. -
Content Recommendations:
In addition to building links, we recommended content topics that aligned with the client’s goals and would further support their link-building efforts. The Result: 303% increase in Ranking Keywords
By the end of our campaign, their organic traffic had grown from 2,415 visits to 8,240 visits, according to Ahrefs data—a tremendous 341% increase. The client’s ranking keywords increased dramatically, growing from 2,319 to 9,352 per month.
